Description

Telecor’s VDWP – Visual District Wide Paging Software provides the ability to perform district wide paging operations using a graphical user interface (GUI). From a computer at a centralized location, a user can activate bell schedules, or initiate paging, messaging, and audio program broadcasts to school facilities in the district.

Visual District Wide Paging is specifically designed to streamline communication during emergencies occurring within the district. In response to an emergency, the district office can use Visual District Wide Paging to communicate in various ways with school facilities. For example, should a weapon-related emergency occur at a school, Visual District Wide Paging can be used to send lockdown instructions to other schools that are nearby the location of the emergency.

By default, Visual District Wide Paging uses a variety of element icons to organize and manage communication operations. Each operation has its own unique icon for quick and easy one-click activation. Each icon also includes multiple visual variations to indicate when the operation represented by the icon is idle, deactivated, or active. Visual District Wide Paging can also be customized by importing the District’s own backgrounds. For example, a map of the School District saved as a bitmap image file can be overlaid with icons to represent individual schools geographically. These icons can be used to better organize and activate communication operations. Alternatively, logical groups of schools (e.g., primary, intermediate, high schools) can be represented by customized icons and placed on a tailor-made grid or chart to suit the users’ organization preferences.

PAGING
When distributing pages, Visual District Wide Paging is used alongside an MCC-300 console or a PBX telephone at the district office. The user selects the individual school or groups of schools to page by clicking on the appropriate icon on the computer screen to begin the page. The user then uses the MCC-300 console or PBX telephone for voice communication. It is also possible to distribute pages to all schools.

AUDIO PROGRAM BROADCASTING
Visual District Wide Paging allows for the one-click broadcasting of audio programs to groups of schools or all schools. Audio program broadcasts can be made using various sources including: pre-recorded MP3 or WAV audio files, or other audio playing sources such as tape/CD/media players. It is also possible for audio program broadcasting to be automated according to a schedule. For example, the district office can schedule and automate the playing of the national anthem and any desired pre-recorded morning announcements for the schools in the district.

DISTRICT WIDE MESSAGING
With a single click on an icon, the district office can use Visual District Wide Paging to send district wide text messages to Pro-Lite LED digital displays and Telecor 2484 Digital clocks installed in the schools. District wide messages are delivered to all schools that are part of the District Wide Paging system.

SCHEDULING
Use of Visual District Wide Paging can activate or deactivate district bell tone schedules. Schedules are activated or deactivated simply by clicking on the respective icon. Whether a schedule is activated or deactivated is indicated by the color of the icon.
